Founded in 1963, Mobilization for Justice envisions a society in which there is equal justice for all.  Our mission is to achieve social justice, prioritizing the needs of people who are low-income, disenfranchised, or have disabilities.  We do this by providing the highest quality direct civil legal assistance to residents of New York City on a wide range of civil legal issues, while simultaneously working to end the root causes of inequities through impact litigation, law reform and policy advocacy. MFJ impacts more than 25,000 New Yorkers each year resolve their legal issues related to housing, foreclosure, government benefits, consumer, employment, civil rights, disability rights, special education, elder care, and family matters.
